Sensacja w derbach Poznania! Lech rozbity przez Wartę

John van den Brom (Lech) and Dawid Szulczek (Warta), coaches of Poznan teams, decided to take advantage of the break in league matches to play a friendly game. Both teams played with incomplete squads, but there were more absences on the „Kolejorz” side.

Due to call-ups to the national team, the Dutch coach could not count on Mihy Blazic, Nik Kvekveskiri, Filip Marchwiński, Filip Szymczak, and Maksymilian Pingot. Meanwhile, Bartosz Mrozek, Mikael Ishak, Antonio Milic, and Joel Pereira, who have played the most minutes on the field this season, trained on the neighboring pitch.

On the other hand, Warta played without Kajetan Szmyt and injured players Dimitrios Stavropoulos, Miguel Luis, and Adam Zrelak.

The game was dominated by the „Green” team, although it was the players of van den Brom who had the first chance to take the lead – Artur Sobiech missed a one-on-one situation with Adrian Lisek. Warta’s players posed a big threat to their opponents after set pieces and it was after a corner kick that they took the lead. The second goal came from a shot from 16 meters by Dario Vizinger, and the final score was set by Wiktor Kamiński, who finished off Stefan Savic’s shot.

Unfortunately, the game ended badly for two players from Szulczek’s team – Nilo Maenpaa collided heads with Dawid Szymonowicz and both had to leave the field before halftime.

The friendly match was closed to the public and the media.

In the next round, Lech will face Widzew Łódź at home on November 26, while Warta will play against Legia in Warsaw a day earlier.
